Aditi Phadnis is Political Editor at the New Delhi-based premier financial newspaper, Business Standard since January 2000.
Phadnis is Political Editor at Business Standard. She was a Jefferson fellow at the East-West Centre, Hawaii in 2006. She was awarded the Ramnath Goenka-Indian Express prize for excellence in Political Reporting in 2010.
She has contributed to the Far Eastern Economic Review, and international newspapers like the Express Tribune (Pakistan) and The Sunday Times (Sri Lanka). She has been quoted by The Economist, The Financial Times and the Christian Science Monitor. She is also the author of an edited volume: “Political Profiles’ published in 2008 by BS Books. She is regularly invited by brokerages and global investment banking firms for updates on Indian politics.
She appears on television and radio shows as an expert commentator on issues that intersect politics and the economy. She has lectured to journalism students at the School of Convergence, New Delhi.
Phadnis came to Business Standard in 2000 from weekly newsmagazine 'Sunday'. Before that she was with The Independent, The Indian Post and Newstime, all dailies. She began her career in journalism in 1983.
